If you ask me these civilizations have supposedly existed for thousands of years. It’s entirely possible they have put aside their differences because why discriminate against someone when you have something else that looks way WAY different to you. Humans are always looking for that other to hate. In our world it’s other races and civilizations of humans because that’s all there is. In fantasy it would be orks and elves because they are so incredibly different from us.
Can no one point out that THIS IS WHAT THE UK BASICALLY LOOKS LIKE NOW ,...and its 2024...

if possible i would add 2 to 3 venators for more fighters and its just me being a old republic fan but ill also add 2 to 4 harrowers, and have a few fury interceptors as well (updated with tech from the new era) and have the harrowers be fitted with more guns
i have always liked the harrower and fury interceptors designs and they worked pretty good harrower being around 800m i think?
ask that question to anyone who lives in florida and i'm sure some will answer yes to "has a giant aligator attacked/crashed your or someone you know's birthday party"
You got two Progress systems.
So , basically , Cardassians are Space Germans .No culture or religion besides worship of the State and creating ideals of Supremacy (Which they have never proven) .
I want to Do some Sci Fi Story too. And I Wanted to go with „something something“ Empire. Yeah they would be kinda the bad guys. But kinda not. So something with Sol or Terra would be better. The Protagonists are the Human Alien Alliance. It are the Faschist Human Race, the „Empire“ with an Emperor against EVERY Alien Species, conquering and colonising planets. It is set MILLIONS of years from now, in the new „imperial“ Timeline of 110702 after an very BIG Event. It are Millions of years from now because I want some „very old swords and other weapons, forged of dark matter/anti Matter/Black Hole Matter, Millions of years old“ Now you now. I am from Germany, here I am writing some of my stuff in English for the first time. In German it sounds a little bit better. Empire is Imperium and Emperor is Imperator. And Millions of years old is Millionen von Jahre alt
Wendol is believed to be a jews that why critic go so hard on films
You saying the borg and Dominion are unraveled by the federation that is not true
Lisan al Gaib means "tongue from the unseen realms" in Arabic, superficially it is exactly the same as Praetorian Guard as a historical term used in a fictional setting. Personally I like both because they are fun Easter eggs for history nuts and also are little threads to pull a person into the deeper meaning and influences on the work. The major difference is that Arabic and Islamic History is less familiar to the target audience which suggests more research and creativity was used in selecting that term.
Bought the game due to the reinforcement memery for the Malevolent Creek and epic last stand action, took some shroomies for my first jump, I ended up reinforcing in the first battle, hugged some trees then danced in the rave. Unfortunately as i sobered it was apparent that I was getting stranded behind enemy lines. My last days were spent engaging in guerilla tactics by day, then by night staring at the alien constellations and waiting for my divers to return for me.
Raccoon City was destroyed by a nuclear weapon, not a thermobaric weapon. There's no thermobaric weapon even remotely capable of producing an explosion that large. That's a common misconception in the RE community for some reason. If you understand how a thermobaric weapon operates, this becomes quite clear.
Also, there's a thing that I would suggest. Often in sci-fi like any other story that involves great empires, geopolitics, wars and struggles, there's the tendency to ridiculize the enemies and make them look ineps, unable to carry out their job. That's like that thong of the Stormtroopers that "can't hit anything"... Well that's a weakness in the major development of the storyline. In order to perceive the sense of danger and risk and make things dramatic, it's necessary that the enemy win. There's no struggle if enemies can't even conquer a single remote outpost, right? Of course the whole thong should be based on the world settings. Logistics, forces deployed, those things TI have already made in a number of videos. If the world is well balanced, it will look more realistic and more interesting, enjoyable, etc.
Common Romulan Propaganda
50:15 I swear, if someone wrote one of those HFY stories where humans manage to conquer the galaxy because they insist on stabbing the other guys instead of themselves as part of a mutual ritualistic suicide pact, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was a parody or not.
Forgot the Pakled.
The Droid Army, on the other hand, had the factories to produce its soldiers as 99% of it already being battle droids cause at its peak, the Droid Military had a total personnel count of literally quintillions of battle droids, yet it was snuffed out and shut down by Anakin Skywalker
Perhaps a bit late now, but I think it would be a more American vibe to not focus so much on the capital. Like in current time, DC is an important city but American culture and life don’t focus on it in the way that French culture and life focuses on Paris, or British on London, or Russian on Moscow. The population is dispersed and local political centers are more important in daily life than what’s going on in DC perhaps a continent away. That’s just my thoughts tho, if you want a more centralized America that’s cool
That being said, DC was centrally located in the original 13 colonies and became decentered after extension across the continent so it makes sense that Independence might be centered among the new 13 colonies but not the rest of the worlds.
This nation, though not related to the real world, would relate to our historic nations in the real world, especially the old United States during the American Revolutionary War for Independence, as it had an army of rarely experienced soldiers that gathered guns, gunpowder, and other supplies, to rise up and fight against the most experienced army in the world, the British Empire, which had a large navy, yet had lost with the first US President George Washington having being a General of the then freshly formed United States Army
The Union of Imperial States of America, though suffering from their economic problems, had risen through the mid 21st century as corporates and governments scramble for alternate resources, it suffered minimal effects of the Resource Wars, but it wasn't forever as it began to suffer the Economic struggle, it was clear in 2052 when the European Commonwealth declared war on the Arab Union, which was followed by a small nuclear exchange, leaving tens of millions dead, but one Nuclear weapon was accidentally dropped on Cairo, that was in U.I.S.A soil, leaving the city in ruins, it was followed by a small nuclear exchange that left the European Commonwealth being turned into a Nuclear wasteland, by 2060, the U.I.S.A began to expand, not into unexplored lands, but into neighboring planets and soon, other solar systems, like the Alpha Centauri System, where two planets are found to be habitable, one a luscious Oasis, and the other almost uninhabitable with constant storms, and abundant resources, it colonized 12 planets, but soon, the People's Republic of China, the greatest rival of the U.I.S.A, desperate for the resources, declared war on the U.I.S.A, it invaded at the dead of night, taking U.I.S.A forces by surprise, taking Beijing, splitting the U.I.S.A's East Aisan territories in half, however, an economic crisis in China caused the war to fall into a stalemate, which would last for about a year, but the U.I.S.A would reuse older cargo ships to supply its front lines with resources, breaking the stalemate in its favor, by 2076, the war is on its final stage, and the U.I.S.A would assume that China would use Nuclear force, and decided to strike first, so on July 7th, 2077, U.I.S.A.A.F bombers were sent on a one way mission, they are armed with one thing, and one thing only, nuclear weapons, Nuclear Subs launched their first strikes at 9:13AM, followed by land based ICBMs by 9:16AM, both Silo Based and road mobile, Silo based ICBMs were launched at 9:14AM, and Road Mobile ICBMs were launched two minutes later at 9:16AM, the bombers launched their own Nuclear Strikes at 9:20AM, a Retaliatory strike from China occurred by 9:21AM, and Nuclear war began
This is why I dont like the idea of destroying the reapers along with all or most technology. If the Earth today got hit by an EMP, most people in first world nations would die of starvation, lack of medical care, we would quickly exhaust resources as hoarding became a thing. And no you are not ready for that just because youve seen Doomsday preppers and watch the walking dead
I really think the US would hold over names from the original US. Names like Columbia, Washington (especially Washington), Jefferson, etc.
I don't see the US ever giving up a colony, even to an organization they're a part of.
It also doesn’t make any sense for the US to let their only way of transportation between systems to be on “neutral,” or independent systems.
The humans of the Matrix 100% deserved everything they got.
Just FYI: No human has ever been to the moon.
Coming back a few years after this video and the only thing I’d imagine changing is the fact that the first light of possible salvation happened in McCragge. As much as we all may hate to say it.
Is Stellaris season 3 coming soon? And if so, can we do the United Federation of Nations?
Sisters of silence be like
Can there be more than 1 planet with the same name? Endeavour is an important name in Australia too.
Pfizher.
Can I ask what program you use for your mapping? My family member has been trying to write a space story that takes place in a nebula, and is trying to place and keep track of something like 300 stars using MS Paint and their sizes and planets with an Excel sheet.
I think it is Adobe illustrator, it is a vector based program and MS paint is pixel based (I think). They are both just digital art tools. Vector based programs are better for the zooming in and out that he does.
You guys have to make another Stellaris series, C’MOOON!!!
i wonder.. would the benelux also be a minor power ore even a medium sized power? the treaty for the benelux was sighned around 1944 and officiated in 1948... there was a heavy recistance against the gremans in those countries irl.. it would make sence for the us or the british to try and use them as a shield and pupet agains the germans as the goverments of the beneluxhad been in exile in allied teretory. and it is a very dencely populated region of the world with a lot of economic power.. i do think they would be able to start colonies especialy when bankroled by the allies witch in a cold war setting agains the germans i do think they would do
Are they going to keep their names? There's no direction in space so why would I add "East Federation" or 'Pacific' to my nation?
It was explicitly stated that the show is canon.
the force alone is more interesting than star trek
It's scary to think that Shepard wasn't entirely wrong. It likely will take either World War 3 or the Second American Civil War to shake America awake and realize how far we've fallen.
The Greater Empire of Japan, though it had been an Empire since it had won ww2 on December 11th, 1945, when it dropped its first two Atomic Weapons on the United States, had been hit the hardest in the 2050's, especially in 2052, when it's citizens witnessed the European Commonwealth declare war on the Arab Union, which was followed by a small nuclear exchange, leaving tens of millions dead, and the entire Nation, and it's Co-Prospherity Sphere, the East Asion Co-Prospherity Sphere, suffers the brunt of the Resource Wars, so, it annexed every single inch of its puppet states, trying to use their resources, until the Government turned its eyes EAST, it found out about the Commonwealth using Nuclear Energy, so it began to use Nuclear energy, but what's left of the Uranium in its Uranium mines were scraped clean, and it was not enough, it had to use alternate resources, but had realized one thing, it's Space Craft industry had been the most important, so it launched its first Space Exploration mission, to Mercury, Mars, and other planets, and they found they are abundant in resources, resources it had had needed, so the first cargo and oil tanker space ships were made, and the first colonies on the first of many resource abundant planets, the Japanese had its first taste of Resources from other planets, the new resources had been a change in Japanese history, and money began to flow in, in hundreds of billions, but all too late the Greater Empire of Japan realized that the entire world could know it would do this, and thus, it began to be very secretive, sadly the Soviet Union found a crashed Type 172 Oil Tanker Space Ship, and thus, the USSR was the first to realize the secrets, and then the US, and soon, every nation knew that the Geeater Empire of Japan would use its interplanetary colonies to resupply itself with their resources, and began demanding resources, by 2075, the Greater Empire of Japan had enough, and declared war on the first nation to expose its secrets, the United States, but it was before October 23rd, 2077, that Japanese Subs were spot, followed by Japanese Jet Bombers, they were armed, not with conventional weapons, but with Nuclear weapons, by 10:31AM, 3 Nuclear Weapons launched by the Greater Empire of Japan, hit the United States, causing a third world War between the Greater Empire of Japan and her allies, and the United States, and her allies, for 2 hours, over 700 Nuclear Weapons, half from the Greater Empire of Japan, and another half from the United States, rained down on each of their lands, and what comes after, is Nuclear fire that not just covered the United States, and the Greater Empire of Japan alone, but also every nation of the world
Is there a reason why the map on the Champlain Group website hasn't been updated? Because I am looking at the map right now, and it definitely doesn't have the US colonies on it
As Marc mentions near the end of this stream, the planned update for the Champlain Group Map is sometime this weekend. Generally, Champlain Group Map updates either happen the weekend before or the day before a Worldbuilding Stream. For now, we're still working on it!
The biggest issue I have seen in a lot of Science Fiction is that races become "Mono-Cultured". Mass Effect is probably the biggest perpetrator of this, with Star Wars doing the same. We see how diverse and vast our cultures on earth are--look at the cities in the US and each has a unique culture. In Sci-Fi, why does it appear that an entire civilization adheres to one culture or belief? I would understand if that race was confined to live only on one part of their planet due to cosmic reasons, but not if the entire planet is habitable. Is is simpler to focus on an alien race as a single culture rather than showing the diversity of their cultures, but I feel it does a disservice to realism. If we discovered an alien species, how many differing ideologies would their species have and how many races in that species? That is what I want Science Fiction to be, as it makes it more believable and distinct.
Hi! so I'm starting to develop a story using this, and this is what i've got so far: Subgenre→ military science fiction Tone→space vietnam, dark explains what the soldiers suffer characters from both sides, the elites control and fight for resources and politics, as the story progresses we get more heroic(characters from both sides, suffering join together to try to *politically, not directly* undermine the corrupt goverments and show the people the truth ) Focus→ kitchen sink, not totally (many options to expand, original is just one war, but *BIG BUT* same kind of message) NO: -country 1: good/country 2: evil -important motives/reasons to fight -Aliens (for now) -desintegrations, pew pew (impersonal killing) Technology: -”future”: railguns, missiles, nukes (stuff that hurts, is cruel) -WARP: for storytelling is sehr gut GEOGRAPHY: -2, 3 star systems -important resources/political influence in the place that the story takes part in -2 superpowers (democratic but fake democracy. Ej: russia, china in real life) -Earth included, nation based there, other nation is a splinter group from the lost times -Early, experimental FTL that helps with going places (still takes about a week to go from places to places) -already implanted “jump points” for fast travel TIMEFRAME: - CONFLICT: -A war between two powers, to obtain resources, territory and economic power, supported by an old rivalry between both sides. -heavy use of infantry and close combat(vehicles support troops in combat with enemies within visual range) -stagnation, no one really wins, pyrrhic victories - Because of poverty, the only way for the families to survive is by sending their young to fight to get money. GEOPOLITICS: -Bipolar, power is divided in between two main factions, each has own “puppet states” controlled by them and that respond to their military calls SIDES OF THE CONFLICT The Republic of Sol: Some kind of government run by politicians who focus on efficiency and economic gain without remorse, overlooking social and ethical concerns that make the people angry, but a combination of propaganda and a limitation of technology makes them stick to their work. The true Sovereingty/ The Imperium of Rëft: Rule by religious leaders enforcing strict interpretations of faith, often limiting individual freedom and promoting rigid social rules. The people follow because of lack of other opinion Any ideas/opinions? thanks in advance
“I’m Karl Franz, and I was born into this world, just like you.”
God bless america usa usa
God Damn that ending. Can you do a video on the UNSC Air Force? I think it would pair well.
